Tom Brady turned 39 on Wednesday, and following the retirements of Peyton Manning and Matt Hasselbeck, the New England Patriots quarterback is the oldest passer in the NFL.
In fact, the only players older than Brady Josh Gordon Jersey are a few kickers and punters. But in his 16-year NFL career, Brady has shown no signs of declining and there hasn’t been much reason to believe he won’t be at the top of his game when he returns from a four-game suspension.
Everyone slows down eventually, but Josh McCown Jersey just because Brady is just shy of 40 now doesn’t mean he’s done. A few quarterbacks have found success in the last year of their 30s, although it’s a small group.
The 46-year-old passer said he’d love to be the Dallas Cowboys’ backup quarterback so as long as the team could guarantee no 300-pound defenders are going to run into him.
“You know what? Being around, walking in this Hall and stuff, it kind of gives you a little bit of an itch,” Favre told NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “The only problem is I can’t get hit. Can they promise I won’t get hit?”
Nate Burleson was quick to remind Favre of the prowess of the Cowboys offensive line, but it wasn’t quite convincing enough for the old gunslinger.
“Well, I mean, that’s good. But I need a little more … security.”
I, too, would like to play quarterback for the Cowboys if they could please promise that I won’t be hit. As would Tony Romo, who fractured his collarbone twice behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in 2015. With pass rushers like Fletcher Cox in the NFC East, there’s plenty of reason why watching from the couch is the better idea.
Did Adele get offered the Super Bowl halftime show or not? Adele said she turned down the opportunity to perform at 2017’s Super Bowl halftime show, but the NFL and halftime show sponsor Pepsi are denying that an official offer was ever put on the table.
Philadelphia’s success still hinges on Sam Bradford. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Bradford spent the offseason getting healthy and he’s really ready to compete this year. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
